Introduction to the history of the area - agroforestry and tradition (olive harvesting, chestnut harvesting & hunting)

Identifying tracks & signs of mammals, reptiles and amphibians.

Workshop on wildlife photography.

Introduction to animal monitoring using Camera traps- Artists will be given a camera trap to use for the duration of their residency.
RICCARDO MATTEA
Zoologist/conservationist
Born in Italy, Riccardo graduated in Zoology and holds a master’s degree in Biodiversity conservation in England. Research has taken him to countries such as Peru, Ecuador and Uganda. His great passions are photography, Entomology and Herpetology. For years he has been practicing macro photography focusing on Reptiles, Amphibians and Insects. During the time in Studio Verde, Riccardo will be in charge of the ecology program, educating resident artists about the animals, environment, and how these interact with local communities. Ricardo is an environmental specialist and will guide you on hikes exploring local mountains and natural areas.
